XLterrestrials on PostCOPs agreements: When the Fairy Dust Settles… ( part 9 )

Before we begin our own rant, we wish to feature – up front – the plight of the indigenous voices which were repeatedly blocked out by the COP21 and their agreements… and the corprorate media.

” We refuse to be turned into marshmellow activists!” #PostCOPs  XLTerrestrials analysts

what does that mean ?

We have a hard fight ahead against corporate power, private interests and corrupt govts… and while we respect all the hard work that went into much of the efforts made in Paris to put the pressure on, it was a pressure that was primarily shaped and defined by the state’s oppression, restrictions and very calculated pre-emptive strategies.

[ close to 400 arrests and 24 subsequent house arrests. From this article. ]

And those colorful peaceful marches and actions,  that DID succeed in the tiny wiggle room, will do little to change the aggressive and willingly violent tactics of a state protecting its abominable high-profit accomplices / sponsors in climate injustice.

And WE will need to think very deep about how we move fwd in this war against the environment, against the weaker exploited nations and against the poorer global citizens everywhere, who will remain the most endangered by the reckless and undeterred krapitalist frenzies and agendas.

The picture above is of the bodies collected after Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, which left over SIX THOUSAND dead ( 6,300 ).  We hazard to guess that the vast majority of COP dealers have never taken on the task of stuffing bloated and rotting corpses into body bags. Nor come to rescue the survivors in the aftermath of these growing un-natural disasters !

A couple days after COP21 agreements as we were still preparing how to present the issues at CiTiZEN KiNO in Berlin… we caught up on a lot of the excellent media coverage ( though not to be confused with agitation or radical resistance ) we hadn’t yet fully viewed… One of them was this excellent report from Democracy Now, a Filipino artist who describes the devastation and helping to collect the bodies (most of which were buried in mass graves). This is somewhat outside even the mild left media’s circulating NGO talking points, many of which are impressive expressions of the struggles, but still a bit removed from the ground zero experiences.

There’s are still many angles and perspectives to assess where we are at in this epic battle for our futures. And this blog is a too quick response, which will require a more rigorous capturing of emotions mixed with a more precise outlook for strategies.  But one which we feel must be put up front, in all the haze of congratulatory and ‘tactical optimism”  is that WE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT AGREE with the Paris Agreements !

We must not let our vision for more serious social change and system change be compromised, nor let our anger and outrage subside. And we are racing the clock to prevent and/or mitigate massive catastrophes ahead, and there are powerful entities and enterprises who will continue to fight ruthlessly to assure that what’s left of a fossil fuels industry will continue running. Among other destructive industries, and the growth economy as a whole. The economic and industrial machines are still running, and heading at high speed towards a wall. And we must demand another course NOW !

We are in the PostCOPS phase ! We know that what they have now negotiated (after 21 YEARS of incomprehensible foot-dragging, spin, and easy paths out ) entails throwing whole populations under the bus !

Our movements must push them into other action and timelines that will not harbor nor tolerate the corporate climate terrorists.

Today we also began watching the Field Of Vision projects from Laura Poitras and friends. Filmmaker journalism… ( which allows the highly emotional and subjective ) …  and it reveals to us how inept (and lacking in new visions ) the EU governments are in the face of far lesser predicaments (that increased climate changes may bring), as they decide the fates of nations and the very real people currently challenged by these same old failing systems, and leaving numerous victims in their wake.  #thisisacoup #refugees
