< 22.o3 > CiTiZEN KiNO #23 : Predatory Net + analyzing the Visual Media Environments, Tschechisches Zentrum, Berlin, 20:00h

CiTiZEN KiNO is a hybrid of film, internet, theater and happening. An interventionist and interactive performance which allows the spectator/participant to enter the hacker and artivist domains, and transforms the over-mediated “screen-culture” into a full-bodied, solutions-oriented and liberatory activity.

< 23.03 > WORKSHOP: Media Self-Defense with XLterrestrials. 14.00-17.00h

XLterrestrials are an international arts and praxis group which formed in San Francisco during the 1st dotcom boom and the 1st dotcom crash. One of the members, Dr. Podinski, will talk about re-using of media material in context of VJing, show examples of this practice as well as give an introduction to VJ software Modul8, a tool for real time video mixing and compositing, and maybe even a little media composting ; ) … In English, booking free, limited capacity! Applications:

< 13.03 > XLterrestrials will take part in an an evening of Open Presentations at Supermarkt, Wedding – Berlin

We’ll discuss our work on PSYCHO-MEDIA ANALYSIS, CiTiZEN KiNO, and why we think that maybe technological ‘progress’ in a society with a dismal operating system might just be like poking yourself in the eye with a smart and sharpened i-stick. And ideas for how one might properly assess the current situations via community interventions.

Some notes for C-Kino 22 + 23:

We’ll be including a few impressions about Transmediale’s BWPWAP and even a few bits from Berlinale, current topics like the death of Hugo Chavez, and of course one of our favorite topics: our precarious lives in the over-mediated environments steered by deranged hyper-Corporatocracy and Technotopians ; )
